I bundled up and hit the water about noon on Sunday in the hopes of getting into some stripers. Due to a death in the family this was the first time I've been out since the Spring. I trolled for about three and one half hours before my knees burned out and landed one shorty about 16". Was not able to mark fish nor did I see any bird activity. Nevertheless, it felt great to be back on the water.

I was trolling 18' to 20' but the only fish I caught was in about 8' to 10'. A couple of other snaggedliners were coming off I was going out and it was slow for them too. I may need to hook up with someone in the future and try again. Being by myself I was a bit afraid to go too far out.

Going out with a group is always helpful. Lots more lines in the water shortens up the searching quite a bit. We've been fishing there pretty regular over the last few months. So we kind of have figured out what works...usually. Do you have a VHF radio? That is another helpful tool groups use to relay info.Hobie fleet:
