1 oz spro bucktail... real quick small hops and you'd feel them start to nibble. I had a few slams that I thought must have been flounder and hair on my jig came back missing along with the tail. I doubt it was blues on the bottom.

Cool pics. Those are some nice croaker, too. I love jigging for them. I think I might have had a couple flounder hits in the inlet, too, based on missing jig hair, but I don't think they were very big.

Don--You've got to get out there. How else are we going to know what's going on in the South River?

Looks like you finally got that croaker po-boy you were talking about. Nice photos.

Just getting the traps ready. Still some what early for me to crab. I have to get serious about fishing for the moment. Everything else will have to be put on hold for a time. However, that style of crabbing is fun.

          I keep it healthy...

And here is the video that let's you know that you made the right call to head home when the winds picked up... I put the camera away but it was worse than this. I tried to keep the camera still on the gunnel for awhile but that didn't seem to work. Anyway, you get the feeling of rolling on the water that I was experiencing.

18" or 20" I can't remember. A minnow bucket works pretty well too. I use my drift sock way more than my anchor and I put it on a bungee bc it doesn't pop and snap as much when you're rocking around. I guess a longer rope would help but then it's more of a pain and danger of getting wrapped up on. Bungee works for me.

Great report guys. I might hit there Sunday depending on the weather. Those are some nice sized croakers.

I love the bungee cord on the drift sock. I'm gonna have to steal that idea.
