Well something to keep in mind is shorter, wider boats tend to be more stable and maneuver/turn easier, but longer, skinnier boats are faster and require less effort to travel at a decent speed. So you need to think about what situations you think you'll be in the most. The LURE looks to be tailered for stability so if you think you want to travel long distances you may want reconsider. Though if you want a yak you can stand on the LURE looks like a great option. My tarpon 140 is 14' long, so it's a little tougher to handle up in the rocks of the Susquehanna where I sometimes fish but not terrible. It's great out on the flats and in open water. I have a rudder too so it helps with the maneuverability of the longer yak. Something else to consider is storage and handling. I have the room for a 14' yak and am able to car top it on my Mazda, but depending on your size and vehicle keep that in mind.___________________________________

They allow any water that comes over the top to drain and not swamp the boat. You can plug them but it's usually easier/better not to.

I have a very nice yak for sale for $800. Ocean Kayak trident 13. It's in excellent condition and has been very well-maintained. It's only one year old. it's served me well in the bay and its tributaries.

Absolutely. It's set up to receive a depth finder easily. Actually one of the scuppers are designed to install your transducer through the scupper.
