Just visited Jonas Green-ice on the Severn River is pretty much gone. Can launch from JG with no problems. Still ice in the creeks-Weems still iced over, but starting to break up. Maybe with the oncoming rains and warmer temps, it will be open next week. Can't wait!

Here is a regulatory interpretation from DNR. The pickerel season closes from March 15 to April 30. I was never sure if "closed" meant we should not target them, or we cannot keep any of them during that period. I wrote to DNR Fisheries last year. The man who replied to me said that "closed" referred only to keeping pickerel. Anglers can still target them during the closed period.John Veil

Do you know if they are still planning to open? I drove by the browns bridge launch a few days ago and enough of the ice had melted making it fishable.
