Thought I'd try some perch fishing today at Allens fresh. Launched at the bridge and decided to head upstream. Not a single bite, and I went super far upstream hitting all the spots I have caught in the past. Only used small jigs and plastics. Water looked good with a few feet of visibility, but current was strong on the outgoing tide. Spoke to another kayaker as I was launching and he stated other anglers had caught fish before the last storm. I saw no evidence of spawning, so perhaps I chose the wrong side of the bridge. Oh well.
