  • Tuesday on Weems Creek

Mark and I are making our first trip out Tuesday on Weems Creek. We plan to set out from Tucker St. Between 10-11. Low tide is 9:15. Anybody out there is welcome to join use. I checked out Weems this morning for ice-all gone. This will be my first time out on my Slayer 10, can't wait.

Yes, it was gone Sunday morning. Had to Tavel to eastern shore Sat. Going over in the morning could not see anything, but when I cme back around 4pm, I saw no ice anywhere. Guess the temps and rain dissolved it. Be interesting how long the Coast Guard keeps upper bay closed.

Scratch that. My wife just reminded me of a Dr. appointment I have at 1045.

              Mike,

We'll likely be out for a good while.

Please join us after your med appointment if possible.

                    We got skunked.

The air temps were comfortable but the wind started gusting shortly after we launched and it was hard to hold casting positions.

The water was clear. I had one pickerel follow a white bullet head darter fly but I could not entice it to bite. That's only fish I saw.

It was J. Rentch's maiden voyage in his new Slayer. Beautiful boat and he did very well maneuvering it.

Even though we caught no fish it was great to be out locally after a miserable winter.

I was wondering how you guys did yesterday. I'm glad you were able to make it out and that the weather was favorable despite the wind. Unfortunately my doctors appointment went longer than usual and wasn't able to make it out with you guys in a decent time. Thanks again for the invite and will continue to look for further opportunities to go out with you guys.

                        Mke,

You picked a good day to visit the doctor.

There will be plenty more opportunities as the weather breaks and the fish will be more than willing to please.

                        Stay tuned.

                          Mark,
I figured why my FF wasn't working. I had turn off the system. I went I to the Menu and scrolled down to where I saw "off" listed. Reset it and it seems to be working fine. Pretty simple fix, but didn't think about while on the water.

                            John,

We can use that as an excuse as to why we got skunked!

We'll have better luck next time.
