http://buoybay.noaa.gov/ and NDBC will have water temps selectively...

I made a little page you may use that has a compilation of all the buoys and where I can find info I also put it in there.
    http://www.mychesapeakebay.net/weath...baybuoys.shtml

One of the guys said he had an accurate temp reading of 64' in the shallows off Beverly a couple of weeks ago during that really warm Saturday.

It's good to know where the buoy is situated... in an inlet.. open water.. etc..

I haven't found any readings up the tributaries... except for looking at satellite maps...

You can see the fluctuations from the different time snaps and day to day...

    This morning we have...

Susquehanna 52.2' (mouth of river tucked in a little from the Chesapeake)
Tolchester Beach 56' (in the inlet so it will vary with in and out of the tide as it draws water in and out from the marina area)
Annapolis not on line. (mouth of Severn in Chesapeake)
Patapsco 57.3' (mouth of river in Chesapeake)
    Thomas Point 58'
    Goose Reef 55.8'
Kiptopeke 62' (37.165 N 75.988 W tucked in south of the horn at the park)

The fish were still biting in the Severn this morning (at least for the first 70 mins). I caught 18 stripers up to 24" in 70 mins. Then the bite turned off -- I had just 4 more small stripers in the next two hours. They did not bite well in the areas that were very productive on Mon and Wed. I found them in a different spot (but one that I wanted to visit to check it out). Just when you think you have them figured out .........

        John,

They each have fins and a tail and they put them to good use.

        That's what makes fishing fun.

Congrats on your successful search mission today.

Nice fish! I also enjoy fishing the glossy black paddletail plastics.
