Beverly Triton this Saturday and Sunday 5/16/15 and 5/17/15! updated!

As you may of seen in my last post about going to Beverly Triton Beach this Saturday; Saturday is still a go for me, my dad wants to put a few miles on his new yak and so do my brothers. However, I will be going Sunday as well and would like for others to come as well! Keep in mind that this Sunday Mayo beach (right next to Beverly Triton) has a free public day (park usually requires annual pass to use it) where there is another beach, pavilion, and play ground. I will be docking there for lunch and will represent our fishing community if anyone else would like to do so, just let me know! As stated in the last post as well, the park opens at 7am regardless if the lock is locked or not. A few others made some good points about preserving our rights to use the park as a launch in the future we should follow these guidelines and not ruin a beautiful access point to the bay (which is free!).

With all of this being said, this Saturday marks the opening day for rockfish starting at 20" to be kept! So lets make the best of this weekend and catch some fish!

It's good we have launchsites on this side of the Bay Bridge. The Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival is this weekend at Sandy Point State Park and getting over the bridge may be tough.

Weather looking iffy...the sites I check are contradictory and not consistent. ..one says cloudy the other 60-70% chance of thunderstorms. I'll check the radar at 530 tomorrow morning and make the call then.

Today was beautiful man! Only got one that was 24" was gonna consider making it dinner but it has a huge ulcer on its side about the size of a baseball Was disgusting

Ended up making a quick trip to BT today instead of heading to chsp. Got 3 small schoolies...not even worth measuring. Had several more about the same size bending my rods but did not hook up. Did not have any good hits otherwise. I doubt I will head back there til fall after today's trip. It was still definitely a really nice afternoon on the water though.

My son and I fished from around 8 until about noon. We each got several under 20 and he also picked up a 26. This is only the third time I've tried this sort of fishing (trolling for stripers), now I'm ready to move on to learning where and how to catch flounder. Suggestions are welcome.
