Made it out today...looked at the forecast early this morning...just looked like light rain so I decided to go for it. Glad I did. It was just a great day. I'll have to go through the video to see how many stripers I got, but it was more than 10 and less than 15. They were all undersized except for the first one. I attached a photo of him. He was 24 icnhes, but all messed up with sores so I let him go. Unfortunately, all the rest were 15 to 18 inches, but it was still great to catch them. The water was much calmer than I was expecting and all and all a very nice day. It only sprinkled a few times. I attached another photo of all the crab pots/trot lines that were out, at least that is what I assuming they are. It was kind of crazy....like a minefield!

Met JHoss in the lot as I was leaving. Also, met a new kayaker out on the water...didn't catch his name. He said he just found out about Snagged Line recently. If your on, welcome aboard, it was great to see you on the water.

Only 2 fish for me today. At least this one was a keeper, right at 20. Fish seemed to be a bit further out today than on past trips. 12-14 was where I started marking fish. Beautiful day! Happy that the summer weather is finally here

you guys may want to switch from the Rapala Xr-12 to the xrd-10 for the schoolies. It's a smaller bait and the fish love it that are around 20" The CD-9 is another solid lure. Thanks for the reports guys. Nice going.

Nice meeting you today too YakCapn. This is my first time on snaggedline after hearing about it yesterday.

10-15 fish is awesome. I wish I had that luck today but I'm sure I wasn't doing something right as I am new to this. After three hours of fishing I did get lucky and caught a 27" striper. Looked nice and healthy too.

Had a change in plans late so decided to get a boat for the day and entertain a couple buds. Really glad we didn't cancel as the weather scared the typical groups away but we were right as rain -- without the rain! Trolled white buck tails and parachutes, north of the bridge, along Love Point and the Eastern cliff drop, lost my newly acquired Rapala X-12 to an in-experience assistant. Came away with two beautiful stripers, 20" and 20.5", perfect for a nice dinner.image.jpg

After reviewing the tape, it revealed 17 hookups with 13 landed. The largest being the 24 incher I posted before. It was fascinating to watch the strikes over again. I remember hearing the more experienced fisherman on here talk about getting a bump from the striper first as they try to stun the prey and then the strike where they take the lure. I saw lots of bumps 5 seconds or so before the strikes. Interesting stuff.
