Lots of Cow Nose Ray and lots of small menhaden, at least I think that's what they are. There were schools of them everywhere, I cast into a surfacing school hoping to catch what was chasing them and snagged one:
Fighting CNR can be fun, but in the end it is just a lot of work. I had an epic battle with one out by Thomas Point Lighthouse, it took me at least 10 minutes to get it released...and I was completely worn out in the end. I ended up hooking 3 CNR, and releasing them all while saving my jig. Dao tangled with 4 of the beasts, and lost 4 lures in the process.
We found lots and lots of 12-14" striper by the lighthouse too, nothing even close to keeper size.
Dao found out how not to release a CNR:

Good to see someone caught something. I was there from 1-6. And got skunked except the impaled minnow. I saw an osprey effortlessly pull 12" fish from the water. Maybe better luck next weekend.

Woke up late so just fished the head of the severn today from our private launch. Got into some small rockfish on topwater this moring then switched over to tolling and got some more small rocks and perch. And then bam, reel screaming, knew what it was right away cut the line. Seems like the cnr are thick this year dont remember them being this far up the river last year.
