Scott and I fished from 6 until about 1030 today at the mouth of Smith Creek and around the point into the St Mary's River. Morning started a little slow with croaker willing to bite Gulp but not much else. We both picked up a nice 12-13" croaker for lunch. Went out to the channel edge but I was seeing nothing on the depth finder and we were getting no bites. Went back into the flat at the point and found a large school of rockfish and for the next 30 minutes it was a fish per cast, up to 18 1/2" so no keepers. We each boated 7 or 8 fish in the frenzy. I was fishing a Yamamoto crank bait and today I caught rocks, a croaker, my first blue fish of the season and a first for me, a crab. That bait is killer. Hopefully the schools of fish will start showing up more frequently now.001.jpg
