i hit Piney Point this morning. At 5:30 there were already 7 boats launched (I haven't seen that many at any time here) but none visible on the water I trolled the bridge channel and the flats off to the sides. Bigger fish, running 16 - 18" were on the flats with considerably smaller fish in the channel. They were only interested in 3 and 4" paddle tails and I had no bites on my go to crank bait or the buck tail. Ended up with 15 fish or so for the morning. I did see an outback heading off towards the gas pier but didn't get a chance to talk before he was out of sight. There was very little wind but it was at times choppy due to the huge number of crab boats today, obviously the 4th of July crab feasts being caught.
