i hadn't been to Piney Point in awhile so headed there this morning. Not optimistic with low tide at 6:30 but I love morning low light fishing. On the water at 5:45 and as I feared there was no current moving. Trolled through my usual spots with some minor taps but no hookups. Headed down the.St. George island rock wall and started picking up the occasional 16-17" rock on the Z-man. Went down to the cove just past the house with the Marsek container in the front yard (this is the slower lower) where I switched over to a Gulp curly tail for perch. Picked up a couple of nice ones and croaker as well. Headed back and kept picking up rocks every now and then. I ended up with about 10 in 3 hours of fishing and covered 6 miles. All in all a nice morning on the water. It will be a few days for the tide to get shifted enough to make this area more productive - should be good by the weekend.
