Nice catch! I've been out on different parts of the Severn over past 3 days and caught a few 17" rocks, but no keepers yet.

              What a day!

Fished with Sparky, Ken Kayak, and Cowkid2.

Cowkid2 got the first keeper, then got another one about the same size (according to her, it looked bigger to me), after trying to lift it into the kayak with the fishing pole and skipping it over the nose of the kayak twice it landed back in the water and released itself.

We had some less than desirable times on the water today; Cowkid2 is apparently susceptible to seasickness, she started chumming after her second fish, and it didn't get any better for her after that. She did manage to pedal out to Thomas Point Light though, even with feeling bad she kept fishing. The schoolie bite was just turning on at TPL when she had enough and we decided to head back to BT Beach. Took the same route back, and I hooked up with a keeper, then a CNR. Ken got a keeper at TPL, and another one after I got my keeper. Seems like the fish are pretty spread out, but the mouth of the south produced.

Jeep topping two kayaks is way too much work, I will be buying a trailer before we take two kayaks out again.

              Pictures from today.

              Just after launch.

              First fish!

              Pulling her stinger.

Paddle boarders came out to the lighthouse, there were three of them; my hats off to those silly rascals.

I kept the streak alive landing another CNR today. Only one, down from my 3 CNR average of this part of the year.

22.5" almost the same location Cowkid2 got her fish as we were headed back in.

Wow! Thank goodness for the torqeedo huh? That would have sucked to have to paddle the outback back to the launch.

                      Sparky,

                      That's a shame.

                      Any reason for the break?

I have been putting in some mileage this year on the kayak. My last two trips to the flats recently have been logged with double digit mileage. I've replaced some parts prior to this breakdown in the beginning of the season. Funny thing is I am not hard on my gear, everything is rinsed and stored in the garage after every trip. No signs of distress before the leg shaft snapped. I was rigging my rods for more shallow water while drifting in the current...My first pump of the pedal and snap! I ended up going to BYB in Annapolis and purchasing the new mirage drive. I will rebuild this unit for a spare and keep it in my vehicle. I guess I pedal with purpose.
