FullSizeRender.jpgFullSizeRender-2.jpgI fished the Susquehanna yesterday evening just below Deer Creek. The shad fry are coming out of the creek in good numbers. I saw several large schools on the river. This time of year gets overlooked on the river but I love when the shad fry are moving out. Lots of good topwater action. Six smallies, about a dozen dink stripers, a feisty little blue gill that I caught in the middle of the river on a little Rapala. I also caught a nasty needle fish. None of the fish were very big but it was all on topwater. I saw one boat the entire evening. I only used the little Rapala that you can see in the bluegills mouth and a smack it jr. The water was gin clear so I used a 8 foot 2X Fluro leader attached to my power pro.
