It was around $10 for a 4 pack of 3x3 squares, and $13 for 2 5x5. I put one on a little while ago, hopefully it cures properly. It's basically a patch of fiberglass pre resined. Hopefully I'll hit the water on Friday. Fingers crossed..
I cut about 1 1/2 ' pvc in length and then cut the diameter of the 1 1/2" in half down the whole length. I used a heat gun and formed it to the keel. Used some goop and glued it on. Works great.
I just gave it the touch test, it's still tacky. Pretty sure it shouldn't be. The instructions said 5-15 min cure time, sunlight dependent. It used UV to cure. I don't really have high hopes at this point, it'll be tested on Friday.
KeelEazy is some good stuff. You can ask for a sample for free. I have used it for years. It does tend to fall off after a few years but I have abused the hell out of it.
I don't know if its because of the humidity, but this stuff never fully cured. It was still tacky 3 days after I applied it. It seemed to be hard after I pulled the kayak out of the water, but still felt a little tacky. I may try to pull this our off and reattempt it..... I don't know.
