  • Southern Maryland Crabbing

Planning on some crabbing action tomorrow. I was thinking of hitting Smith Creek or some place similar down near PLO.

Problem is I never see crabbing reports for that area. Wye River, Kent Island, Severn River, Pax River... but never Potomac or PLO.

Is it the lack of crabs there or just that few folks want to drive all the way to the end of the state?

Myself and Yak67 were on Smith Creek this morning. There were a lot of crabs swimming in the water and I saw one trotliner but don't know how he was doing. Over in Cuckold there are two guys who work a trotline every day, so they must be doing good. I did hear complaints of lots of females in Cuckold. Might check wind forecast to help you decide where to go. Cuckold best if strong winds out of the south.

No lack of crabs in those waters this time of year.
