Launched at 7:30 from Jonas Green and headed south. Spent the next three hours trolling buck tails and jigs along the shore in 15-20ft of water. Ended up with five Stripers: 1-23", 2-19", and 2-16". All healthy looking fish 23 in.jpg3-8 jig.jpg. Four of the five were on the jig. I notice a group of. Iris working the western shoreline. Tried to paddle over there, but the Navy YPs were practicing their maneuvers in the Annapolis Channel, so,there was no way I could get across to investigate-Go Navy. Also saw an Osprey flying over the shoreline. Thought this was very unusual at this time of year. Do not believe there are "Resident Osprey" in this area., could not make it through the winter. Hoe it gets moving soon.

John R. also had the Severn Slam today -- striper, white perch and pickerel. Congrats to him for that.
I saw the osprey today too. In fact I saw it dive into the water and I was surprised then by its presence as John was later. I thought they all had gone south by now. I think it better get moving.
I concentrated on pickerel today and boated 9 and lost a few others. They are very active now. Unlike recent outings, however, I caught no surprise stripers lurking in pickerel waters.Mark

Congrats on a nice day john and Mark! We couldn't have asked for nicer weather.
I set out with Scott in search of Rocks in the some of the other tribs of the Severn at around the same time. While my catch rate wasn't amazing, they were mostly quality fish with 3 over the magic 20" mark - 20", 21" and 23".
