  • Beautiful Day on the Bay

Not much catching. Only managed to get three on the hook total. Got lucky with the first two being both legal size keepers (23" & 22")...third fish was 18.5".

Launched out of Dundalk, then got out to the main stem of the Patapsco.

Any who, some pictures of the beautiful weather a few of us got to enjoy...love it when the water is flat.

Sunrise; on the water 15 minutes at time of picture. Air temp 30ºF, water 45ºF.

Tug boat channel, Key Bridge a mile or more away, best guess.

    First fish of my day:

1oz Ken Jig Big Eye, with a Zman SwimmerZ Sexy Mullet. My new go to color; "Opening Night" is dead...not a bump in several trips.

My other rig; caught every other fish, and got bumps several times. Not sure it those bumps were pre-schoolies, or fish hitting the teasers.

Yours truly, in case the above pictures were too pretty.

          Nice!

Good to see someone is still finding fish! We only found one Saturday and he jumped out of my lap.

Glad you got into them! I launched on the other side of the bridge a few days ago and only got into one little guy.

The day wasn't as calm as Sunday but one of the better ones. Spent a lot of time exploring...

Looks like a beautiful day. I was just a bit curious. Do you eat the fish caught in that area?

There are a bunch of launches on Bear Creek and it's tributaries; Peach Orchard, Merrit Point Park, Turner Station Park, to name a few.

I caught 9 for the day only one was legal one. 2 were over 19"
4 were caught on the 1.25 jig head/white 6" shad body with a dyed green tail, the other 5 came on a tandem rigs with 1/2 and 1/4 oz jig heads with 4" bass assassin paddle tails in white/green tail, chartreuse, white/black and opening night. the white green tail caught 2 the rest were 1 each. I didn't get any takers on the umbrella rigs that I trolled 1/2 of the day. But it was a beautiful day on the water for December

Indeed, it was a beautiful morning to be on the water. Lots of trash in the water for the 1st mile of pedaling...I found a plastic gun among other things...way too much to remove. The trash skimmer needs to be deployed. I got skunked completely this time...not even a dink for me & I even ventured out closer to the bay in search of those horizontally-lined swimmers. My new ff just arrived so maybe I'll get it setup before too long. Atleast someone caught keepers(Cowpokey, plasticboat,&Ken). Thanks Cowpokey for helping me load my Outback on my roofrack. I worked up an appetite for the lunch buffet w/ Mike, Moc, & plasticboat. All the pedaling was a great workout!
