  • Fish are getting harder to come by...

Launched out of Sandy Point this morning to light winds, 37 degree air temp and 47 degree water. I intended to seek out deeper water in search of remaining Rocks. After trolling out along the pilings and farting around the western rock pile, I headed for some birds in the direction of the light house. I marked some fish at around 25', but they were small and scattered.

I was hoping that the ledges off of SPSP would hold some life, but found little. There was more activity out buy the green channel markers, but they were not interested. If felt better when I saw that other boats weren't catching anything either....

I made it back to the rock pile and caught some shorts and drinks while jigging a Stingsilver in 40'-50' of water. I have definitely lost the jigging mojo I had during the summer months, but I am looking forward to getting it back when winter conditions allow.

All in all, it was a mediocre fishing day, but conditions were excellent and the it was a great day for paddling and just being on the water.

    Thanks for the report.
I am going to try on Thursday. If fish aren't there at the rock piles, I am going to troll. I think I will down size the trolling lures, and bring some inline sinkers to lower the trolling lures way down
