  • 12/16 frustrating start good finish at the patapsco

Fished the Patapsco today. I started trolling a stretch 25 and a 5 inch paddletail, when I saw some good marks I would jig a BKD, after several hours I had caught nothing. I switched to a slim silver and started catching fish, small fish, some were really small but at least I was catching. Then I caught a 29 incher, then it was back to more 20151216_142124 (1).jpg20151216_173543.jpgsmall fish and it was time to go.

I had similar results there yesterday. Trolled over marks for 90 minutes with only a dink to show for it. Decided to try jigging a small bunker shaped metal jig ands started catching. Dink striper and perch mostly, but one fat 25.5" made my day.

Nice catch, glad to know there is still some action left out there. I spent 6 hours trolling Monday with very few marks and not one bite. Not sure if it was the front moving in or the commercial nets strung across the channel on both sides of the bridge.

Ah man, those nets are up :-( That's when the fishing dies. They take them all. It happens every year.

                Those nets shouldn't be permitted.

I love my fishery, and it kills me to see it plundered. They put the nets up along the main path those fish will take and decimate them.

That's a damn shame about those nets.

Thanks for the report, great read! I've been tempted to run down there myself but went out to local waters yesterday and I'm happy to end the season with a healthy under 30" fish, lol
