When do they start? This will be my first year and I would like to be participating in all of them. It would be nice to have a calendar up here to easily see them

Watch the Mid Atlantic Bass Fishing thread for early season bass tournaments. I believe cb-kayak has a pickerel tourney running now. Other that that I don't know of any others till the start of trophy striper season in mid April. There are plenty then.

April 29-May 1 is the MSSA Striper Tournament with Kayak Division

There will be an annual one in New York, usually around late March to mid April. They will announce it as it gets closer. you will see folks talking about it on here. There New New England Kayak Fishing club has one in May or there abouts. Most Snaggliners participate in the local tournament CBKA which is held in September and that tournament is followed by the Tidewater Kayak Anglers Association (TKAA) Tourney) usually about a week later in Virginia. There are others in Florida and North Carolina and Texas and Oregon. All of the ones I mentioned are saltwater tournaments with some fresh water divisions. There may be others I am not aware of;....yet. Oooops. There is a Red fish tourney on Kent Island and the CCA tourney as well. Keep checking this forum and someone will post the dates as they become available.

These are the ones that come to mind. More and more boat tournaments are adding kayak divisions so keep an eye on them also.


Jamaica Bay is the weekend after Mother's Day.

CBKA is the second Saturday of September.

TKAA is the last weekend of September.

CCA Kent Narrows striper tournament early June.

CCA second annual blue catfish tournament on the Potomac in March.

CCA Red / Trout tournament the third weekend of September.

MSSA striper tournament early May.

Cape May Jamboree in late October
