I was just curious if anyone has launched and fished directly near the White House area Washington Monument Lincoln Memorial. I mean can anyone else imagine how awesome of a background that would make while holding up a big ol fish. If anyone has images please share if anyone has plans to fish this area please let me know that also. Im thinking bucket list.DCfish.jpg

Closest I get is just below National Airport on the MD Side.

I've launched from the VA side at Jones Point. Free parking, free launch.

Heads up, the dock is a solid 3 or 4 foot drop into deep, fast moving water.

Launch from Columbia island marina off gw parkway, right across from the tidal basin. I've caught catfish, stripers and shad in this area. The scenery is amazing, but there is a fair bit of boat traffic on nice days.

thanks for the responses I would be interested in planning a trip with someone in the future probably after boating season for safety purposes but with that comes temperature safety also
