Hoping to get out Sunday. Between this weeks wind, cold temps and rain I'm guessing it will be muddy and 50's. I'm thinking my best bet is to soak some bait. Do you think I'd be better off up in the river or fish the channels on the flats?

I'm guessing since you're seeking advice that you may not know the waters well. So I'll just give you the heads up that if you think the water will be muddy, it'll be a result of water coming down from the dam...perhaps swiftly. So if you do fish the river and want to soak bait, you'll be anchored....in rocks....in swift water. So just be careful and check the dam flow. The river can be rough. Make sure you have your required circle hooks for fishing bait. I've seen guys catch on bloodworms right on the edge of the channel.

Thanks. Yes I fished it years ago in a Jon boat. This spring will be a learning experience. I was thinking all this wind had the flats muddy but I'm just guessing. I wasn't aware of the rocks. I'll be careful. Wind shouldn't be too bad. I'm going to venture out on the flats. I'm thinking bait in the holes and channels, drop offs, ect. Got some hogys I want to try but we'll see. If anyone else is going out I'll be in a yellow camo feel free Moken.

I may try to get out there to try and explore the flats as well, but i have never fished it and will be trolling and jigging.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Is anyone else going out?
