I have been fishing the majority of the week, getting ready for the MSSA tournament coming up. Ive been up and down the road, got skunked 1 day and others were nothing but schoolies. I launched at 9 since I have to drop off my daughter at school, after a mile or so of paddlling, my rod starts screaming. I knew off the bat this was not a schoolie, as it pulled my rod holder straight back. Once I got it on the boat, it measured at 34 inches. beautiful looking fish. i set back up and paddled for another 3 miles with no hits until once again my other rod starts screaming. I dont get too excited often but this boy kept on pulling, everytime i would get some line back, he would head straight back down. I fought him for a good 20 minutes, and as soon as i realized what was on the other end my wife calls. She wanted to know if i caught a fish. haha, good timing. I slung the fish over the yak and wedged him under my leg and started to head in. Once i got to the ramp, the groundskeeper approached me to ask how it went. He saw the fish and did not need an explanation. We measured him and came in at 38 inches. I asked him to take some pictures of me which he gladly did.

Dont give up trying to find the fish, go explore new areas. I will not be posting my launch spot due to the tournament coming up.
For those of you wondering, it was post-spawned.
