Went out around 6:30pm in the drizzle. Trolled in 5-7' then 9-11' with no results until I got to the structure that I usually fish. Casting bucktails and waggle tails I caught 6 rockfish quickly, the largest 2 were 22" and 23". Was a great, quick trip except for one detail. The first jig kept gill hooking the fish. After 3 gill hooked fish (1 that was legal) I switched jigs and the problem was solved. Anyone know why? In the picture below the jig that was gill hooking them is on the left. The mouth hooker on the right.
