Started a little late around 7 A.M with the intentions to catch a few more perch to finish up the fish fry, but found a lot more. Had fish breaking along the shore line and produced a keeper 21 inch rock fish (first one on the new Kayak), few more casts and hooked into another nice one, but made a rookie mistake and tried correcting the kayak position and off he came. Moved to an area with good current coming around a point and started catching sea trout first. One was 18 and next one was 22 inched. That made my day. Then came my second mistake after releasing them, I checked my phone and no pic of the 22 inch one. The biting stopped and my friend Bill came, so we went to perch fish in the creek. Caught a bunch and kept the ones over 10. While perch fishing we caught some puppy drum in the mix and Bill caught a nice 18 inch rock fish on his light tackle perch setup. All in all a good morning with a great variety of fish.

Thanks Mike, definitely was a great morning. All caught on the lure you told me about. Thanks againOriginally posted by Big Mike View PostGreat job Keith, so that's where the fish are hiding. Sea trout is my favorite eating fish and those 2 would have been in my cooler.

Is that tandem your new yak or your buddy's boat? I sure caught a lot of fish from my old Malibu2, I appreciate seeing them in action. Yours looks like a Malibu two XLOriginally posted by KEITHG View PostThe Navy base

Cool, I'm definitely going to keep it, but not sure if I want to modify it more as a fishing kayak or keep it as it is and eventually buy a fitted fishing kayak. I like the design of it and the way it handles in the creeks and the Chesapeake.

All you need is a crate and rodholder for trolling......I modified a fishfinder to sit in my forward crate with transducer on an arm.....worked great and 100% back to a tandem when I took it off (which took about a minute).
