I fished Cuckold creek which is off the Patuxent just above the Solomon's bridge with Yak 67 and Tony. They took off towards Pt Patience and I didn't see them for the rest of the morning. Overall the fishing was very slow - we had a falling tide but just couldn't get things to bite. I put on my teeny perch lure (the Rebel Teeny Wee R - see picture) and worked my way back into the coves but only found a couple of small perch. Went to a sandbar I like and started casting when a huge swirl erupted behind my lure and then line started ripping. A couple of minutes later and I had a 24.5" rock at the side of the boat with a single tiny treble holding to the edge of the lip. I got fish grips on it before it could shake its head and dinner was in the boat. That 2 minutes more than made up for the slowness around it. Also confirms what others have been seeing this year on shallow water small bait rocks.
