Decided to get out on the water Monday to get some paddle time in, and hopefully get into some schools. Launched from my community beach on the Elk, rounded Turkey Point after finding a crabber on the spot I was hoping to target perch and baitfish. Crab Pots are all over the channels, fish finder was going wild, and yet I couldn't get a bite if my family's meal depended on it.
Tried trolling, jigging, casting xraps/yozuri/rebels, and spoons all to no avail. Felt like one of those days if had bloodworm or any other bait, I'd be happy in 10 minutes. Lots of baitfish between the Sass and the Elk each time I've gone on the boat. Saw a report a guy crabbing the same area where I wanted to start hauled in a Flounder earlier this week, so the salt line has to be moving.
Still great to get out to start the week off right.
