It was such a nice day on Tuesday, the only thing I had in mind for that day was getting out on the kayak. I needed to get serious about Rock.
Most of this summer when fishing I concentrated on Perch. They are so much fun. And tasty!
So, this time, I rigged up bigger offerings and headed out to the drop offs in front of Castle Marina. The water was a little bit warmer out there. Showed some really nice marks when I got to 20-30 ft. depths.
Caught all kinds of small rock AND, then, got a nice 17" in the boat. Had one that was at least 25" next to the kayak when it pulled loose from the hooks. Got another really strong pull down after that.
It felt like nothing but weight. Then a slow head shake, then a strong pull and run. And then........nothing. It pulled loose from the lure too.
I was a little dejected, of course, but happy that I'm getting dialed in on them. Will be replacing the hook on that plug before the next trip
