Managed to hit the water at 6:30 am to a strong incoming tide and a strong wind from the west. The conditions made fishing underwater jetties very difficult. FIRST CAST with a jetty full of shore fisherman watching I hooked and landed a keeper rockfish at 22 inches. It pulled me right into a shoal area and I thought I might turtle...but managed to hold on.
As the tide slowed and water level rose I managed to land around 20 flounder in the next 3 hours all on 3/4 ounce shad darts with 4 inch white gulp minnows. Also landed a toad fish, first of my life. TONS of snapper blues in on the submerged jetty chasing bait.
Caught a blue fish while retrieving my ling in by hand after a nasty snag in the rocks. Also managed to land one very short ambitious sea bass.
Would love some company as there is an entire 100 yards of jetty unfished by most locals that holds TONS of fish waiting to be explored!
