  • Question: Bluefish

Has anyone had success on Bluefish around the bay bridge or nearby rivers? I caught some around this time last year in the Severn, but I'm wondering if the salinity is still too low...

i have been absolutly slaying the blues in the severn, south, west, and baybrudege and thomas point.u ned 2 troll a clark spoon being a 1 ounce trolling weight and then about 3 feet of flouro to the spoon.i have cot over 50 blues in the south bigger than 20 inches on this rig.look for skool of menhaeden and anchovies and cast 3/4 ounce hopkins spoon at them.also of u see fish stacked up, jig 2 ouce sting silvers.if u see birds i would suggest throwing a 1 ounce gotcha plug at them.i have slayed the blues this year with all of these methods.but i have cot a few blues here and there with bloodwords, and lots on croaker and spot strips on bottom rigs.also try a live mud minnow about 2 feet under a float and pu a trebkle threw his lips.i have cot many blues on this also.the blues are here.u just got to target them to getem

A lot of the guys on here have two or more kayaks... they'd probably be willing to loan one for the tourney so you both could enter. More the merrier.

Your dad could probably rent one at Kent Island Kayak for the tournament.
