I've caught and released puppy drum from my sis' place on the back of Cobb Island fishing for white perch with small shad lures...usually in late August and early September- the water is about six feet deep (at high tide) next to the rocks that protect the property from erosion-"Lady Luck" 2016 Red Hibiscus Hobie Outback, Lowrance Hook2-7TS

Red drum (redfish) are rare visitors to the South River and Annapolis vicinity. A few get caught there each year. More get caught in the lower bay up to Pt Lookout region. The farthest north I have ever caught them is right near the mouth of the bay at Lynhaven Inlet (Virginia Beach).John Veil

I caught red drum fishing by boat out of Chesapeake Beach last summer. We were just south of the Chopatank river eastern side.
And I didn't know I could get a citation for it, so I guess it's too late now... bummerAttached Files
