  • invasion of the toads...

Well the horse croaker action for me was replaced with an oyster tod invasion for me. I hate them. Peeler crab had been so hot for me and now...I can't keep the toads off. so disgusted.

yes. bet I caught 20 last night ranging from 3 inches long to a monster with a head 3 inches across.

I have just about lost the will to croaker fish. here is my wifes stringer just 4 days before. That day we caught just one toad.

I hate them too. I always spend forever trying to unhook those little monsters. It's like their insides absorb the hook. Anyone got any tips for unhooking them?

Last week I was unhooking one, maybe 10" long. I was holding the lower lip a bit too close. The jaw snapped shut and the upper teeth hit my thumb nail but slid off. Phew! Close one. Those teeth are mean.

I've heard that they are actually good eating. If I catch one that's big enough to be worth cleaning, its going in the cooler!

                  Kevin,
When you catch a monster, let me know. I'm out there. I heard they're good eating too and I really want to try it.

I hate them as well. They almost ALWAYS swallow the hook and slam their jaws shut. One time last year I just cut the hook and threw a new one one...cheapie eagle claws, so it was worth it to me lol.

Looks like you got a nice sized spot on that stringer too!
