OCMD Rockfish 2017

Went out Friday morning to OC with a buddy.... we launched from Isle of Wight and fished the flats just above the rt. 90 Bridge. We each ended up catching 6 rockfish before the wind got to bad. First fish of the year for me and first on the new Hobie.

Way to christen the new ride!

I've fished there a few times over the past two months. There are plenty of fish in that area for sure. Every cast fishing a lot of the time, just not real big fish. Still better then skunk though.

It was fun fishing to get the year started. I would like to get into some bigger fish this year.....my current kayak PB is only a 25" Rockfish . If you ever need someone to go along with you just message me. I would like to get to know the OC area a little more.

I'll keep it in mind. Most of my trips aren't planned out very far in advance though. I only live a couple minutes away. Are you in the OC area?
