I made it out to the OC Inlet for a few hours this morning to try some long overdue togging. It felt good to get back out to the inlet after what seemed like forever since I had been out there last. I really noticed my lack of time fishing in the inlet once I exited the commercial harbor and had to head against a good moving full moon current - I really need to get back into heavy current paddling shape, haha!
Water was really clear, maybe 4 ft + visibility at spots, and felt like a good tog temperature when I stuck my hand in the water. I started at the south jetty and then moved over to Martha's Landing as the current slacked and started to change to outgoing. Unfortunately the bite was very, very slow. I only had three bites during the little over three hours I was out. Fortunately, two of the three fish were keepers An 18", 16.25", and 14"ish throwback.
It felt good to get back to dropping lead in the rocks!
