I dunno. The big boats with planer boards go out to the deep waters. I'm usually fine in waters under 20'. My bigger issue is high winds and the waves that come with them. The wind and opening day aren't in collusion to ruin my day, although this year it seemed like they were. Their scheme worked perfectly this past Saturday.

Worth trucking down around the 301 bridge during the week next week to try to find a few? Or will that probably still be big boat central?

Harry Nice Bridge area should be fine- the hot ditch from the power plant always has a boat or two hanging around if there is water flowing from the Morgantown generating station...over the years there have been some big stripers caught at the bridge- lots of big blue catfish there, too...
