Do you think there might be shad upstream of Patuxent river near Rt. 214 bridge? It minutes away from my work. Thank you

Went to Rt 214 bridge on Pax yesterday afternoon and got into some shad, also caught 12 inch striper. Other guys were bottom fishing for cat fish and white perch with minor success.
Found article about shad fishing in MD stating shad goes upstream to about that bridge:

upstream to Queen Anne's Bridge off Route 214. Hickory shad predominate angler catches in this southern
Maryland system but American shad numbers are increasing.
