Wow, great job. Just out of curiosity what was the color of that Little Neck Popper? I need one of those.

Not positive of what the color is called but it was a light aqua green. I found the plug on the side of the Cape Cod Canal last fall.

Truthfully, I don't think the color mattered at all. A rusty spoon would have worked if put in front of these monsters.

Did you keep any eater size? Reviewing MD DNR it looks like Bluefish is Daily creel limit of 10, and 8" min length?

Reason to ask is i've heard they must be bled/gut immediately and iced? Curious, they are on my bucket list to catch!

I just finished cooking up some snakehead for dinner when I read about your fun times w/ the bluefish, Bruce.
Nice report playing with those yummy blues!

I don't think "Yummy" and Big Blues go together in the same sentence...great fighter, but as they grow they get stronger tasting, too...I think big blues taste like Havoline 30 weight...

i hear soaking them in alcohol, cheap gin particularly, really drives out the oiliness. Oily fish generally smoke up good

Awesome report, Bruce! It was like I was right there with you with your write-up! It certainly looks like you made up for missing out on them last time. Anytime you can break your PB multiple times in one day is a day to remember in my book.

                      Bruce,
Happy to see an "Old Guy" mixing it up with these big blues. Congrats on a great trip!

What do you consider an "old guy?"

No judgement vis a vis age ......"Old Guy" in my post was a reference to an informal group of (mature) angler's who enjoy fishing together year round most often during the week when there is less pressure on the water. The Severn River and it's creeks are home base and our group acronym is OGWLTF, "Old guys who like to fish". I credit John Veil for it's formation.

Reports are more scattered than last week, but these fish are still in the area. Has anyone found them in the last couple of days?
