Is it too early to try shoreline trolling for stripers?

I may have time to get away this week to fish. Is anyone catching any strippers yet in the eastern shore tributaries (or anywhere) trolling near shoreline? I haven't seen any reports so far. Thanks

This is a perfect time. Dont let the lack of reports deter you. Lots of schoolies up to the mid 20's all over the lower eastern shore area.

I've been catching a lot of good size stripers, >25inches, by trolling in really shallow water along the shore. This is at the Bay Bridge

Struck out trolling eastern shore above bay bridge last Friday. Other reports had fish in 30-50 feet of water so we trolled deep and ignored decent marks closer to shore in 15 feet. If I had the day over I would have stayed in 10-15 feet. Good luck.

I've been on fish against shoreline for weeks....literally, right against. Cast almost onto shore, especially a rocky shore.

I had a nice twilight top water bite a couple of weeks ago on the outgoing tide across a shallow creek mouth- 1-3 fow...18-22 inch fish...57-58 degree water temp- and with the wind forecast it might be the only place I can fish Wednesday...

Trolling on 8-12 feet of water close to shoreline (slower lower in front of NAS Patuxent River) this past friday. 14 smallies (16-22 inches) in a matter of 2 hours. Heck of a good time.

Perfect timing for shoreline trolling! I caught over a dozen last weekend with the largest being 25".

Thanks everyone! Only downside is it's likely all catch and release, but that's okay. I really need to get out. It's been a long winter!
