Crabbing

Went crabbing Monday and came home with a couple dozen. I will probably go again later this morning. The crabbing seems to be pretty good so far this year.

Did you crab in the Severn? I think the Severn gets a lot less major crabbing pressure compared to rivers like Gunpowder and Back River due to the lack of public boat ramps aside from SPSP. I usually only see a couple of trot liners when I'm out there.

I use traps. I went in the South River. The South River gets alot of crabbing pressure also.

Went down to the dock again today, 8/12. Again, I caught a couple dozen, 28 exactly. However, I really had to work for them today. There was no culling the smaller crabs for jumbos. Things were much slower than this past Monday. It is almost a full moon. That may have had an affect. I use traps. However, next time I am going to have a crab net with me. There were alot of crabs on the pilings.
