I used to catch those fish off NC and VA Beach Piers- float fishing live bait off the end of the piers- even hooked a big tarpon off Avon Pier on Hatteras Island- kayak fishing 100 yards off the beach on the Outer Banks will get you where you need to be to catch King Macks and False Albacore

Nice. I have caught those from boats, while fishing in Florida. However, a kingfish of that size from a kayak is special.

04/27/2014: Got my third ever Northern Pike today. Hit a shallow diving crankbait in about 2 ft of water. Triadelphia Reservoir. 32 inches.

Wow that is a BIG pike!

edit: I just looked up the state citation size - 38". So I guess 32 isn't "BIG" by that standard but still about a foot longer than any I have ever caught.
