  • good fishing, bad catching and a "who dat"

Went to Sandy Point on a buddy's boat dark and early this morning. After 4 hours trying all the way to Tolly Pt. still had 0 spot so we scrapped the live lining idea. Crossed over toward Kent Is hoping that Kimbro's macs might be up, but again nothing. Went to the bridge with BKD's and lost several pieces to baby blues. Threw a gold Clark and caught several little blues for the live line hooks. Finally had a good run off that didn't stick. By now it was almost 2:00 PM. Bridge made a loud noise and shook a little, thought it was a big truck, but maybe something else. By then the incoming current died so we called it a day.

On the way by I snapped these pics of a yakker who came out from the marina. Hope he got some current and some fish. Was a nice calm day out there

That's me! Lol I thought I saw someone with a camera. I got out about noon and pinch and another guy were heading in. They said they caught a few stripers. I caught one small striper, feed a few blues some rubber which drove me nuts. I switched to a small little twister and caught one perch and a small blue. The tide was not good all day, I left at 7 with a slow outgoing. Need that strong current to do good. Oh well still better than sitting in the house. I had my go pro on so I hope to have something on it.

Yeah I thought someone hit the wall on the bridge but my wife called and said it was an earthquake. Darn.. I missed it on land.. Sorry but that's the biology and geology major in me..lol. The wires were jumping like crazy and that bridge was making alot of noise. They were inspecting it later from a boat and had workers walking the road. There were two other kayakers out when you went by.. They were on the east bound side.

Oh slack current or weak current= alot of snags. I got most back by paddling up to the snag and pulling the line by hand.

Hey missedshed, where did you get a crate small enough to fit in your Malibu's tankwell?

Its a normal milk crate. I just cut the lower corners off on an angle on each side. If i get a chance later I will take a photo. Just used a hack saw, I use bungie cords to hold it in so I don't accidently knock it off when i'm reaching around for stuff in it.....don't want to lose my rods. The rod holder is attached but I only used zip ties for that. one of these days I may actually attach it with screws or apoxy
