  • Planning trip to Blackwater/Taylor's Island Area

I'll be there 4/25-4/27. Any tips on which species to go after?

I assume Striper will be in the Bay, but what will be in Blackwater Refuge that time of year? Anyone fish this area?

I think snakeheads are a possibility at Blackwater.

Lot and lots of snakeheads. Bass too and a striper the closer you get to the salt is always possible.

Oh yeah....don't forget the bugs. They're always there. Ha

BW holds the spectrum, LM, WP, crappie, SH, and some baitfish i've never seen before. If you are planning to pedal drive, it gets mighty shallow at low tide.

Abosolutely. There are tips and tricks, I still call this 'preseason' my best times are June/July, but i've seen them being pulled in from both yak & shore anglers.
