The Severn has seemed quiet this spring for many of us so I was happy last Wednesday to have a lonely rock save me from a skunk. I was fishing an ebbing tide with water temps in the upper 40's. The fish I found hit a 3/4 oz Spro with 5" plastic. I was trolling perpendicular to the current and parallel to a bar on the up-current side. I would estimate in about 6-8' of water. 30 seconds before the fish hit I saw a bait flip on the surface in front of me (only sign of bait in 2.5 hours). It's always fun to catch a fish "where they are supposed to be"......this fish was healthy in appearance and was between 25-26". No sores no lice.....w/ shoulders, belly, and strong.
I hope that we can soon enjoy a delayed season and that the breeders all escape the Bay unharmed.
