  • Going to OC, May 6 and 7th... What lure to use off the bridge??

I'll be heading to OC with several friends, for a few days of drinking and fishing. I have heard that the bridge is good that time of year for blue fish. What lure's would you guys recommend??

    Thanks,
    Stan

I never really fish off the top of the bridge ever, but the lures I commonly see used from there are things like 6" swim shads, bucktails, gotchas, zoom flukes, z-mans, and spec rigs. Spec rigs are a favorite for shad, small blues, and small bass. You might be able to bounce a diamond jig too.

Good question. I should have said the rt 50 bridge.

Here is a video of guys, 2 years ago in May, catching big blues at the Inlet. I'm thinking of using the same kind of bucktails.

            Bob,
THanks, I'll take your advice. The inlet is supposedly closed for a big function.

Try this set up too. Mix it up with a buck tail on the bottom, any kind of gulp, swim bait or jerk plastic.

Got-cha plugs work on blues from a pier. Cast it out and jerk it around on the retrieve.
