  • Kayak fishing with the Principal!

Each year at the King's Christian Academy charity auction, they auction off a fishing trip with the principal....Me!

Yesterday was the trip. This young lady caught 8 eating size blue catfish! She had a great time. She and her dad have decided to keep fishing from their tandem through the summer! Just as I hoped they would.

Great day to be the principal!

From one teacher to another- nice job! I’m always amazed at the wide eyes and interesting questions that I get after I tell a weekend fishing story. This is such a cool way to share our passion with the next generation. Well done!

I'll need years of good works to pay back my friends for all they have given me in advice, companionship, and even boats! Makes a guy just long to give back a little!

Sharing the wild with kids seems it has rubbed off on my son Ethan as well. He is working with a national faith-based charity to introduce hunting, fishing and other nature based recreation to intercity youth. It will take awhile to get off the ground...but it is exciting!

Looks like I need to go to the auction and place a bid Kevin. Nice giving back. Fishers of Men (and little ladies) indeed!

And to think...there was a time in my life when I was afraid of my principals.

                  I had none like you!

                  Congratulations, sir.
