Fished the inlet Saturday from around 0630 to 1630 targeting tog and flounder. Water temps started around 59 deg in the morning and were around 66 when I left. Water was pretty dingy on the outgoing and got a little better on the incoming with maybe 2 feet of visibility tops. Ended up landing 2 short flounder in shallow channels around the 50 bridge on gulp and 6 short tog on fleas with lots of short hits and bait stealers. Spent a few minutes at the end of the south jetty but it was a bit too snotty with the south / southwest wind to fish effectively.

I made it down that way on Friday the 11th for a short trip in the morning. I fished the Verrazano Bridge for about 3 hours casting for rockfish and jigging for flounder. Ended up with 3 short rockfish....biggest being 16". Water clarity wasn't great about the 2 feet that you mentioned. I did talk to a guy casting as well saying the water quality was much better at the rt.90 bridge and the flounder bite was very good. He wasn't the one catching the flounder...his buddy was the one who gave the report, so take that for what its worth.
