Got out on the water about 11:30. Looked real calm until I reached the bridge. Talking about swells.... 2-4 feet. Odd thing they weren't breaking, so I kept heading out. I fished the East span at first, tide was running good still out. However, I couldn't locate any stripers that were hungry. After about 2 hours things started to calm down and a few boats showed up. I finally found a few stripers willing to hit. Then they shut down as the tide started to change. Tide was coming in but we were still drifting out. I headed to the west bound side and started at the double pilings all the way out. Had a few hits... Turned out to be small stripers about 10 inches. Caught a few and moved.. I worked the west side for a bit after that and the darn blues were killing my Burkley jerk shads. I went back to the east bound span and no luck but a few blues here and there. After a bit I did manage a few hook ups but either my line broke or I didn't get a good set. Finally around 6 I started to get some in coming current and some fish woke up. Only thing working at that point was a 1/2 oz head dragging it on the bottom with a slight small jerk. I had a few just run line out and snap my line. I put on a heavy leader of 40 pound and that worked. I ended up with two at about 30. I hope my camera got it. I have to check it tomorrow. Not a bad day, blues, stripers from 10-30ish size around 10 total and one perch. If I got any good shots I will post then up as soon as I get a chance. Hope the big ones are on it. Off the water at 7:30pm
