For better video put it in 720p @ 60 fps its alot smoother than at 1080 30fps.. th 1080 does produce better stills. My videos are in 720

That is the setting I have my GOPro set on, too-and it gives a lot longer recording on a 16 GB card- I also find the 16 GB Lexar Professional 133X speed card faster and better than the Scandisk standard 16 GB card- not much difference in price- I bought two on sale for $59.00-

I'm going to have to check the camera, I thought I was in the lower hd mode but it may have been changed when I was pushing buttons
